The Equatorial Living Lab course is guided by a distinguished team of professors from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and Fourah Bay College in Freetown. This collaboration features faculty from Pratt's Architecture, Interior Design, and Industrial Design departments, along with Engineering and Architecture from Fourah Bay. These experts combine a deep understanding of sustainable design, traditional craftsmanship, and cutting-edge technologies to drive the project. Their collective experience enriches the course, equipping students with the skills needed to develop innovative, sustainable, and culturally sensitive housing solutions tailored for equatorial regions, thereby enhancing local communities and promoting ecological resilience.

Throughout the semester, we collaborated with Graduate Students as assistants for different duties of the project. The practices that have been carried out by them so far, have been designing the project identity, the website structure and all sorts of communication needs.
Students
The Equatorial Living Lab course draws a diverse and global student body from Pratt Institute and Fourah Bay College, spanning four continents. These students, from departments such as Architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, and Engineering, bring a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives, united by a passion for sustainable development and innovation in housing. Their international and cross-cultural experiences enhance the collaborative environment, essential for devising sustainable, culturally sensitive housing solutions suited to the unique challenges of equatorial regions.
